Chef / Kitchen Assistant

 

Due to recent expansion and our busy production kitchen in Roscrea, we are currently seeking a highly talented and driven person to work full time in our Roscrea Deli.

We are looking for Chef / Catering Assistants with excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload and have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. 

You will be working as part of a team but you will at times be expected to work independently and under your own initiative. 


Main duties are working with the kitchen team to ensure that preparation, presentation and services are carried out promptly and to a high standard.


The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate should have

  • Minimum of 1 year Kitchen Experience
  • Must have Knife Skills
  • must have excellent customer skills
  • be well presented
  • be a team player and enthusiastic in being part of a large and diverse
  • Have a genuine interest in food and have a passion for food and be aware of new trends.
  • A good understanding of health & Safety and HACCP regulations are important.

There is a lot of Interaction with customers so a good understanding of the English language is a must. 

This is a large unit open 7 days a week- please note this role involves weekend, early and afternoon starts.

Mulrooneys Gala Roscrea, Receives Deli Manager of the Year Award

MANAGER of the deli & bakery at Mulrooneys Gala in Roscrea, Gwen Culbert, was named as the top deli manager in Ireland at the National Grocery Management Awards, organised by trade magazine, Shelflife.

In the category of Best Convenience Store Deli/Food-to-go Manager of the Year, Gwen was shortlisted with four other finalists from across Ireland, and Mulrooneys Gala was also named as a finalist in the Best Team Performance category.

The National Grocery Management Awards is Ireland’s premier scheme for recognising and honouring management excellence. The awards recognised Ireland’s best performing managers from across a variety of categories and at various levels of career progression.

  Confectioner & Baker

Mulrooney’s are looking for a Baker & Confectioner to join their team. This is an opportunity for an experienced Baker & Confectioner to join our busy store specialising in high quality deli, fresh food and home bakery offerings.

You will work as part of our bakery team and participate in the day to day operation of the baking department.
The Role involves ensuring the highest standard of product quality and presentation at all times while implementing store procedures in relation to product development, stock control, stock purchasing and waste recording.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience working as a Baker / Confectioner with a good working knowledge of HACCP and fluency in written and spoken English Language.

The candidate will join an existing team of 10, working in a busy Deli and Bakery. The role involves preparing a wide range of breakfasts, lunches, salads, event catering and bakery products. They must have the ability to work in a busy environment with other team members. All the team work flexible rostering hours.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering an excellent product to our customers and will have a proven track record in the catering industry.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
